1-to-1 Training

1-to-1 Training

Prefer some 1-to-1 help? No problem!

The exercises taught in the group classes can be addressed on a 1 to 1 basis to suit you and your dog’s individual needs. They can be practised at your home, out on location or at a training venue as appropriate. No aversive training equipment is used.

Personal Training

A few things we can help with

Loose lead walking

Pulling on the lead is a common issue and may have a variety of factors contributing to the behaviour. You will be given
relevant strategies to improve your dog walking with you so that walks together are much more pleasurable.

Dog AID

(Assistance In Disability) was established in 1992 to assist people with physical disabilities, improving their quality of life by helping them train their own pet dogs to provide assistance with day-to-day tasks and in some circumstances providing life-saving interventions.

Recall

  • Does your dog only come back when there are no other dogs around? A reliable recall is important for the safety of your dog and others.
  • Does your dog like to chase and can’t hear you when they are running? Some breeds of dogs are going to be more predisposed to chasing prey.
  • Are you nervous about letting your dog off lead? Improve your confidence and train your dog to check in with you.

Assistance Dogs

training your own dog to become an assistance dog is a huge commitment and responsibility but very rewarding. I encourage people to sign up with a recognised training organisation to follow a comprehensive training programme with suitable advice and support. I am privileged to be a registered trainer with the following organisations:

Veterans with dogs

trains and provides assistance dogs exclusively for current and former members of the British Armed Forces with service-related mental health conditions. Helping Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and other mental health conditions, cope better with their symptoms and enabling them to lead more independent lives.

Darwin Dogs

provide dog training to clients, with mental health conditions, who have their own dog and can demonstrate a need for specific training, tailored to their individual needs, conducted in their home or other location considered to be safe. Each client’s dog is trained specifically for them, to give them increased confidence, comfort and companionship.
